Ben Sellick is a multidisciplinary artist based in Toronto. His recent works are assemblages of thousands of tiny pieces of paper. Sellick cuts and produces the pieces with a three-hole-punch and desktop spiral binding machine. Then, using an X-Acto blade, tweezers and glue, he meticulously and methodically arranges each individual piece, one at a time, into various shapes, patterns and forms. The process is a highly repetitive performative act which demands concentration, commitment and dedication. Sellick studied Illustration at Sheridan College in Oakville, Ont., and graduated in 2004....

Joy and Rose Broadbent are multidisciplinary artists based in Toronto. Together, the Broadbent Sisters transform the domestic into dreamlike realms where sparkles are swept and spaces are cleared. They have produced multiple exhibitions in the series 'Clearing Spaces'; which have been shown internationally at the Festival Du Nouveau Cinema, TRAFO Centre for Contemporary Art, The Art Gallery of Ontario, HUNTCLUB, Katzman Contemporary, The Drake Hotel, and as part of the Sunday Drive Art Projects. Joy and Rose find collaboration to be a unique venue for distilling the essence of form and exploring telepathic ways of creating. They are represented by Katzman Contemporary....

Hunt Slonem tends to embrace the ephemeral beauty of nature, a characteristic that brings a nurturing, spiritual effect to his creations. Throughout his extensive career as a New York artist, Slonem has favored the subject of exotic birds, rabbits, and butterflies. Lately, his compositions have consisted of flat spaces with simple forms pushed to the front of the picture plane. The artist creates exotic forms with expressive and highly textural brushstrokes that are full of intense color, loosely inspired by artists of the German Expressionism movement such as Ernst Ludwig and Emil Nolde. ...

Daniel St-Amant’s paintings begin in the streets and not the studio. To emphasize our global footprint and climate-affecting technologies, he places his prepared canvas on the road to capture the tire tracks of cars and trucks. Once in the studio he uses these distinct markings as a backdrop for paintings of animals. This unique process challenges the viewer to reflect on how industrialism, urbanization and the over-use of resources are changing people, animals and habitats around the world. The paintings often include found objects from nature such as twigs, leaves and moss that are mixed into the paint to create beautiful textures and a natural palette. St-Amant received his DEC of Fine Arts and Design from Champlain College and completed a BFA program with a major in Fine Art at NSCAD. In 2009, he received a diploma from Seneca College at York University in Visual Effects for film and television. His work is collected across...
