“I think therefore I am. In Memory of…”

Ted Fullerton

Brain #: 408

Ted Fullerton’s mother had Alzheimer’s disease and he witnessed how it affected all aspects of her person, as well as the impact it had on her friends, but mostly her family. The phrase, “I think therefore I am,” was coined by the French philosopher Rene Descartes. In considering the implication of this statement that defines the essence of an individual person as it associates to belief, purpose and relationships, Fullerton wanted to create a work of art that symbolically aligned with the uniqueness of our own identity and the “thought” of potentially losing that.
