Alec Monopoly is the alias of an unidentified graffiti artist who is originally from New York and currently resides in Los Angeles. His “gallery” for many years was the bill boards, walls and construction sites in big cities, but his pop art images are also now found in private collections and indoor galleries. It is fitting that an artist who has created much street art would contribute a piece to The Brain Project, one of the most ambitious outdoor art exhibits hosted in the city of Toronto. Alec Monopoly hopes that his work – wherever it appears – creates conversation and emotion. Alec incorporated his signature bright colours and Wild Style freehand graffiti on his brain, adding a final layer of Black Abstract Lines that are reminiscent of the waves of actually Brain Scans.
